If only I had one! It would be so useful for answering most of the questions that buyers and sellers are asking right now. Should I wait a little longer before selling? Should I buy now or wait? When will the upward trend end? Is it a bubble? The questions are legitimate, but the answers are much less straightforward.
I am going to try, anyway, to respond.
Should I wait a little longer before selling?
No. The current market is a sellers’ market. The stock available is lower than ever; there aren’t a lot of new real estate projects; and demand is still very high. If you’re thinking of selling in the near future, don’t wait; this is a really good time.
Yes, it’s possible that the market will continue to appreciate, but the rises in recent years still give you a very nice profit. What’s more, you’ll get a quick sale that allows you to liquidate your investment quickly, which is fairly rare in real estate and worth a lot.
Should I buy now or wait?
Dear buyers, you have been pushed and pulled in all directions lately. However, if you feel like getting a place here, whether to live in full-time, weekends, summer or winter – and even though prices have risen enormously in recent years – if you find what you’re looking for, it’s still time to buy.
Tremblant is known to be the best ski resort in eastern North America and its region has a great deal to offer year-round. Real estate prices are still far below those in Muskoka, Whistler or Aspen.
In other words, if you are thinking of making this purchase with a view to the long term, you could live the life you want starting now and have invested in a flourishing location. And in real estate, the three most important criteria are location, location, location.
In the next column you’ll find answers to two other questions. Stay tuned!
